What is the chat?
The chat in Proyex is your central communication channel for team collaboration. Send direct messages, create group chats, or use project-specific conversations—all in real time and directly within Proyex.
Conversation types
Direct messages: Private 1-on-1 conversations with a team member.
Group chats: Create groups with multiple team members for cross-team coordination.
Project chats: Project-related conversations directly linked to a project.
How it works
Open the chat via the navigation menu.
Select an existing conversation or start a new one.
Type your message and press Enter to send.
Message features
Reactions
React to messages with emojis—a quick way to give feedback without having to write a reply. Click your emoji again to remove the reaction.
Edit and delete messages
You can edit (edited messages are marked as such) or delete your own messages at any time.
Pin messages
Conversation admins can pin important messages so they can be found quickly.
Replies/Threads
Reply directly to a specific message to preserve the context. The reply will be linked to the original message.
File attachments
Share files directly in the chat: images, videos, documents, PDFs, and more. Files are securely stored in the cloud and can be downloaded by all participants.
Search
Search the message history of a conversation using full-text search to quickly find older messages.
Manage participants
In group chats, you can:
Add or remove participants
Assign admin rights — Admins can pin messages and archive the conversation
Mute the conversation — Optionally with a time limit (e.g., for 1 hour)
Pin the conversation — So it stays at the top of your list
Read receipts and online status
You can see in real time:
Who’s online — Your team members’ presence status
Who is typing — Typing indicator shows when someone is actively typing
Who has read — Read receipts for messages
Unread messages — Counter per conversation
Notifications
For new chat messages, you can optionally receive an email summary if you’ve missed any messages. Muted conversations are excluded from notifications.
