What is the Media Library?
The Media Library is your central storage location for videos in Proyex. Upload videos, have them automatically converted into different quality levels, and assign them to tasks. This ensures your team always has access to the latest assets.
Here’s how it works
Upload media
Open the Media Library.
Click Upload and select your files.
Videos are processed automatically in the background—you can see the progress in real time.
Supported formats
Videos: MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, WebM, OGG
Video processing
After uploading, videos are automatically converted to multiple quality levels:
360p, 720p, 1080p, WQHD, and 4K (depending on the original resolution)
Processing runs in the background. While it’s in progress, you’ll see a progress bar. Once complete, the video is available as an adaptive stream—playback automatically adjusts to your connection speed.
Custom Thumbnail
You can upload a custom thumbnail for each video to make it easier to recognize in the overview.
Assign media to tasks
Assign media directly to tasks so your team knows which assets are relevant. A media file can be assigned to multiple tasks and removed at any time.
Search and filters
Search: Find media by filename or title.
Filter: Filter by media type (video/image) or processing status (pending, in progress, ready).
Embed
Videos from the media library can be generated as an embeddable player—useful for displaying videos on external sites or in the customer portal.
Permissions
All team members can upload, manage, and assign media to tasks. Media can only be deleted if it is no longer assigned to a task.
Storage
Media counts toward your team’s storage quota. The storage used per media file is displayed in the overview. Keep an eye on your storage usage, especially with large video files.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does video processing take?
Depending on file size and resolution, it takes anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes. You can continue working while processing is in progress.
Can I replace a video?
Yes, you can replace an existing video with a new file. The assignments remain intact.
Why can’t I delete a media file?
Media that still has tasks assigned to it cannot be deleted. First, remove all assignments.
Tips & Notes
